I think that in leu of bio sections on dating site profiles , people should post screenshots of the notes section in their phones. Those tell a LOT more about a person than “I like dogs, working out with muh boys and occasionally enjoying a glass of wine”.
Instead, if we could peruse their notes, we could get a glimpse into what a person REALLY values and wants to keep in their instant information peripheral. (Ok, that guy probably DOES like dogs. I’d also be pretty sure he’s only ever drank wine at social events, and he’s healthy but hasn’t stepped foot in a gym since 2019).
For example, a single mom of littles’ notes might look something like this:
• Three halfway completed grocery lists that also contain things not edible
• A random name “Shante”. (That’s it. Absolutely zero additional info.)
• Christmas menu.
• Detailed plans for a Paw Patrol themed birthday party
• A reminder to get her hair cut
• Quotes from her toddlers
• 15 recipes she’ll never create
• Church sermon notes
• Lab orders from two months ago
• Several dollar amounts with zero explanation by any of them.
• itwkcalgwdqxedok (probably a password. Probably one that’s already been reset 47 times)
• Lyrics. A LOT of lyrics.
• A phone number with no name
• A list containing her nieces birthdates
• Tv shows she wants to watch, or that a friend recommended.
• A to do list with “combine all to do lists” as one of the actionable items
• A link to a Pinterest post that she wants to remember to add to her board
• Lots of business phone numbers she wanted to remember…to…add to her contacts?
• A reminder to schedule her yearly checkup
In place of a bio with references to her faith, how important her children are to her, and a sentence or two about her love of coffee, prospective matches would learn what Jenlovesjesusncoffee3253 is really about.
She really DOES love Jesus and coffee. Her kids ARE her everything. Also, she plans everything. EVERYTHING. The girl might not be spontaneous, but she’ll be on time an keep her people punctual.
She’s got a fantastic memory – either that or she thinks she’ll remember information if she notates a key bit. (I’m betting it’s the latter option. ((Shante never got a text and there are still multiple to do lists)).
She probably enjoys music.
Jen prioritizes family.
She really should go take care of those labs.
She probably still needs a haircut.
Any guy hoping for a chance should absolutely lead with a coffee date invitation. Or just send coffee – With a note.
